I apologize for my M.I.A. status. There has been a LOT going on in my world. But, what day better than today to rejoin the blogosphere?
This weekend has been a good one (BEAUTIFUL Pittsburgh weather). Yesterday (St. Patrick’s Day), we really wanted to start out with a late wake up time. “Sleeping in” in our house=7:30 (at the latest). Those plans were ruffled by this little guy:
He just HAD to wake up. And he doesn’t quit until EVERYONE is awake. It starts out sweet. He slithers his cute little self up to my neck and gives me morning kisses. I respond with hugs and kisses in return and try to cuddle him. He’s not having it. Nibbling hands, barking and hair pulling are all part of his scheme to get us out of bed. He always wins. Today he even went to the curtains and pulled them back as if to say, “Rise and Shine!” He’s lucky he’s cute.
So, we were up.
I started the day with this lovely green goodness:
Good Greens Powder is totally awesome. It is full of so much health. Wheat grass, spirulina, barley grass, pomegranate… there’s too many to share. Check out the full list of ingredients here.
After the green juice (Wellesley had a bit too) and some gardening, we went to the park for a run with my sister (Wellesley’s aunt) Caroline:
It was the perfect morning. Perfect weather for running with two of my favorite running partners!
By the time I got back home. It was nearly lunch time. We decided to have brunch instead; one of my very favorite weekend traditions! And who wouldn’t want to sit outside in perfect 70 degree weather and talk to this guy:

I whipped up these delicious, gorgeous, Vegan Chocolate Cupcakes with Mint Butter cream Icing mid-afternoon:
They were heavenly. (Get the recipe tomorrow).
Then it was off to the park before heading to watch my youngest brother, Isaac, play in his hockey game.
It was a “stop and smell the flowers” kind of day…
Today has been much of the same. Breakfast on the back porch, opened windows and enjoying the breezy day while taking care of wedding and house stuff.
Enjoy the rest of this beautiful day! And please send happy 4th birthday wishes to my niece and nephew, Simon and Madeline!
