Endings and Beginnings.

The final day of the ayurvedic wellness challenge went well and I am feelin’ good!

After a long run, breakfast started out like this:

7:30 a.m. (Breakfast):

-2 pieced of Udi’s gluten-free Cinnamon Raisin bread topped with Earth Balance butter.

- 1 apple

-1 cup of CCF (Cumin, Coriander, Fennel seed) tea.

At 10:30, I had an orange for a quick snack.

Around 12:00, I had lunch.

- 1 iced, unsweetened green tea (have you realized that these are my favorite?)

- Brown rice with carrots, sugar snap peas, pea shoots, mushrooms and broccoli.

It was a chilly day here in Pittsburgh so, by the time dinner rolled around, we were in the mood for something toasty.

7:00 p.m. (Dinner)

- Cabbage Soup in vegetable broth with carrots, potatoes and a ton of seasonings (a dash of sea salt, pepper, fennel seed, garlic, basil and oregano).

I let this cook in the crock pot all day and it was so wonderful to come home to. The perfect end to a chilly day.

The ayurvedic wellness plan/eating for my pitta dosha was really a great experience. As I mentioned, it really wasn’t about finding a healthy eating plan. For me, it was about exploring the foods that work well with my body type (pitta) and eliminating the one’s that do not. In this, I have a hope for a more balanced body/immune system and, hopefully, a result of that more balanced body will be stronger hair.

Just because I am done sharing my every day eating plan with you all, it does not mean that I am going to stop eating for my body/dosha type. I will continue to incorporate things that are settling for my body and will share them with you along the way.

A few things I wanted to look into in the next week:

–Rose Essential Oil: proven to be a calming oil for the Pitta Dosha, I can’t wait to bring some of this lovely scent into my house! I was searching around for some information about the other benefits of rose essential oil and was surprised to find a slew of goodness surrounding it. Read more about rose oil benefits here.

–Aloe Vera Juice: proven to reduce digestive inflammation for those of the Pitta Dosha. Read more about this excellent juice here.

Have a wonderful Thursday. Check in soon for some chat about a few new things I am looking into and some hair updates.

Peace and love.

–A
