Pumpkin-y.

Last time you heard from me, I was feeling a little defeated about this whole alopecia areata thing.

It can be tough to convince yourself that all will work out in the end while watching your hair fall out little by little each and every day.

As I promised, I got myself out of that little funk I was in on Saturday morning and managed to have a fan-tabulous day! Part of my ability to “look at the bright side of things” comes from the support many of you show me. So, thank you, thank you for the emails and comments that morning! You are all wonderful… :)

Saturday went a little something like this:

Anthony made me this little lovely on Saturday morning. Day 25 of the juice-fest:

  • 2 whole (large) carrots
  • 4 stalks of celery
  • 1 beet (wash it well before juicing!)

You know how food tastes even better whenever someone else makes it for you? This was one of those situations. It was pure deliciousness.

The HSFS= beets, celery and carrots. EVERYTHING!

Drink in tow, we set off to see Anthony’s niece play soccer. Isn’t she (and he) dear?!

After the game, we went to the Pittsburgh Public Market and then to lunch with Anthony’s Mom. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and looking at a few potential rehearsal dinner sites.

It was a G.O.O.D. day.

Sunday brought on day 26 of the juice-fest:

and this gorgeous pumpkin hummus from Jules Gluten Free:

Get the recipe here. Delish. A reminder: Chickpeas are EXCELLENT for your hair.

The green drinks above (one for me and one for Anthony) contained:

  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 head of romaine
  • 12 leaves of kale
  • 3 apples

*makes 2 drinks.

The HSFS=  romaine and kale

I hope you all have a wonderful night! Stay warm…it is getting chilly here in Pittsburgh, PA.

Peace and Love.

–A

  1. His neice looks just like him! Same eyes and nose. Your future kiddies will look like that – adorable! :)
